KidCity is a community of people who care about making family life better. Primarily, it is urban kids who have a wide range of experiences and share their thoughts about them.

Parents, grandparents and other family members chime in. Many are spearheading their own unique projects to make life that much better for future generations.

• Like KidCity member Eric Etheridge who spent years interviewing the original Freedom Riders and documented their experiences in the moving book Breach of Peace.
• Or member Debbie Koenig, a food writer (and words to eat by blogger) who started an innovative class giving new parents tangible tips on making nutritous, affordable family meals.

Then there’s a network of professionals cutting across cultural, educational and civic institutions, travel establishments, publishing houses, record labels, toy manufacturers and media outlets who generously contributes their insider knowledge. And time and sometimes even giveaway items.

Then there’s me, a mom and information designer, who sifts, filters and posts.
